Securian Financial Group was named to the 2009 InformationWeek 500, a list of the nation’s top business technology innovators. This is Securian’s eleventh appearance on the list.
“We innovate to stay competitive in our markets,” said Securian senior vice president and chief information officer Jean Delaney Nelson. “Our technology often differentiates us from our competitors because we use it to provide our customers with industry-leading service, customizable products, secure transactions, and the means to streamline their own business practices.”
InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation’s most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing, now in its 21st year, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings because they recognize the power of innovation in information technology rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
“For over 20 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief Rob Preston. “Year after year, InformationWeek 500 companies harness technology to improve efficiency, boost productivity, drive revenue, and establish a competitive advantage. We applaud this year’s winners, and the CIOs and other executives whose ingenuity is at the center of business technology innovation.”
Securian also is a regular among Computerworld’s “100 Best Places to Work in IT,” making its fourteenth consecutive appearance on that list in 2009. It also is on AARP’s 2009 list of “Best Employers for Workers Over 50″ and has appeared seven times on the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal’s list of “Best Employers in the Twin Cities.”
